£6,500 boost for Bishop’s Stortford’s Holy Trinity Night Shelter for the homeless from NFU Mutual
Bishop’s Stortford’s shelter for the homeless has been boosted by a £6,500 grant from NFU Mutual.
Holy Trinity Night Shelter and Community Outreach was nominated to receive the money by the insurance business’s staff based in Parsonage Road, Takeley.
The grant, from the insurer’s national £1.92m Agency Giving Fund, will help provide double glazing at the winter refuge and contribute to replacement of its ageing CCTV system.
Trustee Richard Ling said: “We’re so grateful to the West Essex Agency of NFU Mutual for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.
“The donation is a direct help to our organisation. We are improving our volunteers’ overnight accommodation, storage space and CCTV, which will help us operate safely for guests and volunteers and provide better office facilities.”
Kayleigh Pimblett, senior agent at NFU Mutual West Essex Agency, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community. It’s reassuring to know we have somewhere local who are providing warm beds for those in need during winter.
“NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund was first created in 2020 in response to the pandemic, and this ongoing support is helping to change lives, providing both emergency support and building long-term resilience.”
