Enjoy dry-aged steaks, cocktails and more at steakhouse and Mediterranean restaurant Boar’s Head in Bishop’s Stortford

Sensational steaks, classic cocktails and much more are being served now at the new-look Boar’s Head in Bishop’s Stortford.

Having been taken over by new management earlier this year, the iconic Tudor building in High Street is now home to a steakhouse, Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar.

And dry-aged steaks are its speciality. The menu includes wagyu, tomahawk, Dallas, T-bone and rib-eye steaks, with the meat being dry-aged for a minimum of 28 days before being served.

Customers can also enjoy a wide range of dishes on the new a la carte menu including Turkish charcoal kebabs, pasta, seafood and salads.

All of your favourite cocktails can be created by the expert bar staff, including pornstar martini, daiquiri, mojito and old fashioned, while the cocktail menu is updated every few months in order to feature seasonal ingredients.

There is also an extensive wine list and a fully-stocked bar featuring spirits and draught beers.

The 130-cover restaurant also serves up delicious Sunday roasts with beef, lamb and chicken options, with the beef used also being dry-aged.

A new lunch deal means diners can enjoy two courses from £16.95 and three courses from £20.95 on weekdays from midday to 4pm.

There is also a buy-one-get-one-free lunchtime offer on cocktails between midday and 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

The team are currently busy getting the spacious garden area decorated and ready for the summer when customers will be able to enjoy food and drink in the sunshine.

The timber-framed building is the perfect setting for lunch, dinner and cocktails with its period features, beams and fireplace.

According to Stortford historian Paul Ailey on his website www.stortfordhistory.co.uk, records first mention the inn in 1630, although the west wing is dated at around 1420, and the famous diarist Samuel Pepys dined there in 1668.

And the restaurant’s upstairs rooms are available for private hire - the perfect venue to host a birthday, family celebration or meeting. There is no extra charge to have the space to yourself providing your party comprises a minimum number of guests.
