Bishop’s Stortford have been drawn away to Braintree Town in the fourth qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The Blues are scheduled to visit the Essex side, who are fifth from bottom in the Vanarama National League, on Saturday October 12.

It was the last tie to be drawn in the southern section of the regionalised draw, which took place live on radio station talkSPORT this afternoon (Monday September 30).

The Iron, who play at the Rare Breed Meat Co. Stadium, were promoted via the play-offs last term after finishing fifth in National League South. They have 10 points from 12 league matches so far this campaign, with two wins, four draws and six defeats. They have scored six goals and conceded 13.

The fixture against a side two levels above them is their reward for beating National League North outfit Hereford 3-2 at the RDA Stadium at the weekend.

Steve Castle’s men have also beaten lower-level Cornard United 5-0 and National League South leaders Hemel Hempstead Town 1-0 in this year’s competition.

Stortford are one win away from potentially drawing a Sky Bet League One or Two club in the first round proper.
